so that color is showing through a bit throughout.
That kind of coloured underpainting is how I work these days. It does tend to tone the whole painting and sometimes that is not what you you want.
It sure looks fresh and summery, though!

Thanks so much in return for your kind comments! I usually use reds and purples and oranges, and make it quite messy and with lots of texture. A lot of times the undercoat just barely covers an old painting…
